3D Printed Mask to Fight Covid-19
With the help of Nanotechnology and ultraviolet laser light, The 3D printed Mask that can kill viruses including Covid-19 has been developed second-year student Naveen Malinga Liyanage attached to the Network Technology of NSBM Green University, Homagama.
In the current Corona pandemic which has been a catastrophe, spreading all over the world. According to that inventor's attention was especially going towards the Doctor's safety.
In regards to the Mask, Naveeth Malinga commented as follows,
'While the surgery Doctors are using normal Mask, which cannot kill the virus. It has a good chance to stick the virus on the surface of the Mask when contacting with the patients. After we remove the Mask virus would be able to apply on our hands.
The n95 Mask is recommended using because it has a possibility of 95% filter the virus. But Mask that I developed is capable to filter 99 per cent. In addition, I use Nanotechnology which acts avoiding virus as resistance just like water where cannot exists on the lotus leave. Somehow, as a virus penetrates through the filter; The UV laser light starts killing the virus trigger behind the filter, refreshing it every 5 seconds allowing to breathe fresh oxygen.
Although UV rays make a bad effect on the human body. There are several varieties of UV rays like UVA, UVB and UVC on which has a habitable nanometer zone that I have used to the Mask. This Mask only for Doctors. The filter is in it, should change once three months. I ran through 6000 rupees for making this Mask which was produced using 3D print technology.
Although I have already applied the patent, which is still pending. I enquired several time form the officers about the patient, but they told me various things. I don't know whether what has happened to it. I would request Mr Ghotabaya Rajapakse, the president to help me to develop this Mask after concerning the technology which is in it.''
