Sri Lankan Scientists generate lambs using artificial insemination
For the first time in Sri Lanka, the Scientists from the Livestock Development Board at Horakelee farm, have generated two lambs by means of artificial insemination.
Indian originated 'Red Madras' sperm has been donated by the Australian Government to generate lambs.According to the Officers from the farm, the lambs are behaving well with healthy themselves.
In 2019 the scientists from the farm had attempted to generate 65 lambs by means of artificial insemination was failed.
In this year three sheep gave birth to lambs in eight sheep have been pregnant after generating insemination of 28 sheep at the farm.
